SUMMARY:PADI/CMAS Ice Diver course 2022
DESCRIPTION:ATTENTION: DATES HAVE BEEN CHANGED!! \n  \nWelcome to the Ice Diver course!  We have a beautiful winter this year\, so it’s the perfect time to give ice diving a try.  During this course\, you will learn the basics of ice diving in a safe and enjoyable manner\, manage possible ice-diving emergencies\, and much more. \nYou must be at least 18 years old\, and hold a minimum of PADI Advanced Open Water Diver or CMAS P2 (or equivalent) certification. \nThe course requires a minimum of 3 dives.  The first dives will be held on the 5th of February\, the follow-up dives will be the following Saturday\, February 12th.  We decided on a -10C as a limit to call the dives\, so if it gets colder than that\, we will move the course to the following days. \nThose who are members of the Finnish Divers’ Federation can do the course according to the Federation/CMAS curriculum\, and those who are not can get a PADI certificate. SUMMARY:PADI Rescue Diver course
DESCRIPTION:As promised\, we are organizing a PADI Rescue Diver course this summer.  During the course you will learn: \n\nSelf-rescue techniques\nto recognize and manage stress in other divers\nto manage emergencies and use emergency equipment\nto rescue panicked divers\nto rescue unresponsive divers\n\nAs a prerequisite you need to: \n\nBe at least 12 years old (12-14 year olds earn Junior Rescue Diver certifications)\nhave PADI Advanced Scuba Diver (or equivalent) certification\nhave completed an Emergency First Response Primary and Secondary Care courss within the last 24 months (can be done in parallel with this course)\n\nTo complete the course you must successfully: \n\nSuccessfully complete the knowledge reviews and the theory exam\nDemonstrate self-rescue skills\nDemonstrate 10 rescue exercises\nParticipate in two rescue scenarios\nPrepare an emergency assistance plan for a dive site\n\nThe price of the course includes the PADI Rescue Diver materials and certification.  It does not include other equipment such as rescue masks\, personal gear rental\, travel\, accomodations\, food\, etc.  We are setting a minimum of two participants for this course.  Registering for the coures requires a pre-payment of 100€ to the club\, and the remaining fee to be paid before the certification. \nA theory session will be agreed prior to the open water weekend based on the participant schedule. \nNOTE: This course is for members of CNNd ry.  If you are not a member\, but would like to participate\, you can join CNNd ry as a supporting member (Supporting membership fee is 15€ and is not included in the price of the course).

DESCRIPTION:Hello everyone\, spring is here and the ice has disappeared from the sea!  We thought it’d be a great idea to kick off the warm season with a 1st of May picnic and dive!  Join us! \nThe location is the Vetokannas recreational area in Porkkalanniemi and the city of Vantaa has granted us the use of the cottage!  There’s a BBQ\, bring something to grill\, etc.  Toilets are also available nearby\, and good parking facility.  We will open the boom so you can drive your car near the cottage and drop off the dive gear\, but please leave the car on the main parking lot so that there’s no traffic jam 😀 \nPlanned activities: \n\nDiving! We will also have some instructors present if anyone is just coming back to diving after a break\, and would like a helping hand.\nFleamarket! Spring cleaning done\, if you have something that you’d like to exchange\, bring it along.  We’ll have a few boxes of stuff from masks to first-aid equipment\, etc.\nCleanup! We’ll bring a few bags for collecting trash from the water and on land.  Let’s work together to keep Vetokannas tidy!
